We’re now about to enter the Valentine’s week. Do you celebrate the holiday? And if so, do you exchange gifts with your other half? If the answer is yes but you still haven’t decided what to get this year – I’ve prepared a few ideas! And if you’re one of those cringing at the heart-themed, couples kind of items shown on display of most stores at this time of year – sorry for that! The Valentine cringe will be over in just a few days. 😉

Another post in Valentine’s Day spirit? Why not! Today, I’m bringing you 3 simple ideas for DIY gift tags to use with your Valentine gifts. And for once, they’re not all done with quilling! Surprising, I know!
I don’t know about your countries, but mine is now entering the carnival period. Christmas officially ended a few days ago, and the time before Lent is supposed to host colourful, jolly parties. Our celebrations aren’t as prominent as those you’d see in Brazil though, and the group that has the most fun are… children! I’ve no idea where this concept originated, but almost all kindergartens and primary schools organise fancy dress parties for the little ones in carnival here. The project I’m coming with today would have made me so happy 20 years ago! Here’s how, in a few simple steps, you can make a wand – perfect to go along a wizard costume, looking like it was nicked straight from a Harry Potter filming set!
Today, I’m coming with another specialty of Polish cuisine. I’m not sure how to properly describe it in English keeping the word count down to a title-acceptable amount. I guess the best match would be something between dumplings and gnocchi (which are also a type of dumplings actually, aren’t they?). “Kopytka”, in Polish, translate to hooves. That’s because traditionally, you’d shape the dough into a roll, flatten it slightly, and cut diagonally into parallelograms (getting mathematical here, sorry!). These shapes resemble the shape of horse hooves (if you look at horse feet from the side – not that you’d ever have a reason to look at horse hooves from the side, but just saying). Mine don’t look like hooves, for just one simple reason – I’m too lazy to roll and cut the dough. Instead, I just shaped the dough into balls.
Please forgive me for giving in to the ubiquitous Valentine’s mood – it will soon be over! But before that happens, I’d like to share a few more things. Today, I’m coming with another mandala – heart themed this time. It’s also a great occasion to finally launch a new section on this blog – downloadable resources! So the America’s leading meteorologist – groundhog Phil – predicted an early spring this year. Phew! I think all of us living in the northern hemisphere and having to deal with snow and frost are relieved to hear that. However, it doesn’t look like spring is about to come within the next few days, sadly. We still have some cold days ahead of us, and what can be better for those occasions than spicy, warming, delicious food? Curry type dishes are my go-to in winter. Today, I’d like to share my recipe for Chicken Tikka Masala!
The beginning of February is the time when Valentine’s Day occupies every public space. Those who celebrate it – get prepared, those who don’t – complain about the commercial aspect of the holiday. If you belong to the first group and also happen to enjoy little craft projects, you might be planning to make a Valentine’s card. And for all handmade cards in general, it’s nice to have some little decorations to add as details. Whatever cards you’re planning to make – Valentine, birthday or any other type – these mini paper flowers will certainly fit!
Today – the 2nd of February – marks the official end of Christmas in my country’s culture, tightly connected to religious aspect of Christmas (you can read more about our traditions here). This day makes a perfect occasion for my big Christmas-released project to be released for the first time. I’ve gathered all of my Christmas recipes, craft and gift ideas and inspirations that have already been published on this blog, added those that are still yet to be published (that’s right, I didn’t manage to post all of my Christmas adventures in December and had to schedule some for 2019) and arranged them all into a festive book. It took a lot of work, but it’s finally ready and available to download right now, for free, for everyone!
The beginning of February marks the beginning of Valentine season. Pink, heart-shaped decorations are now present wherever you look. Whether you plan to celebrate the holiday or not, you can treat yourself – or your loved ones – with some scrumptious goodies! Preferably some that appeal not just to your stomach, but also your eyes. 🙂
