Columbia Road Flower Market

Columbia Road Flower Market

One of the reasons why I love London is that despite being a huge city, it has a small town vibe as soon as you leave the tourist and business oriented central zone. My commute to the City (the part of central London with all the glass skyscrapers) takes only 10 minutes, and where I live feels much like a small town area. Short, brick buildings, local shops, green parks and interesting markets. One of such markets is the Columbia Road Flower Market.

Quilling Cards – Last Months’ Projects

Quilling Cards – Last Months’ Projects

The majority of special occasions in my family fall in the first half of the year. Grandmother’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, birthdays of all my family members. I need so many cards! I wasn’t able to post for a while, so I’ve gathered the photos of some of the cards I made in the last few months. Naturally, all of them were done with my favourite technique – quilling.

Mini Watercolour Tags

Mini Watercolour Tags

A while ago, I decided to let my long-forgotten watercolours shine and spent an afternoon playing with them. I created a few simple bookmarks that day and was left with some scraps of watercolour paper which I didn’t want to go to waste. So, without a real plan, I made a few little tags. Mini Paper Flowers (Using Flower Cutter)

Mini Paper Flowers (Using Flower Cutter)

The beginning of February is the time when Valentine’s Day occupies every public space. Those who celebrate it – get prepared, those who don’t – complain about the commercial aspect of the holiday. If you belong to the first group and also happen to enjoy little craft projects, you might be planning to make a Valentine’s card. And for all handmade cards in general, it’s nice to have some little decorations to add as details. Whatever cards you’re planning to make – Valentine, birthday or any other type – these mini paper flowers will certainly fit!

Simple DIY Bookmarks

Simple DIY Bookmarks

If you like to both read and craft, this project should be up your street. I’m bringing you the idea for simple (though cute) DIY bookmarks. The whole project can be done in about 15 minutes! It’s also a great one to do with children, as it doesn’t require great manual skills. And it may encourage the little ones to both craft and read! You’ll need one of those floral hole cutters for this project, they can be found in craft stores or online and usually cost peanuts. They’re great to have overall, super useful in papercrafts!
