Breakfast. Often considered the most important meal in a day. Sadly, many of us who work full time tend to neglect it. Instead of celebrating this first meal and making it full and nutritious, we grab something on our way to work or prepare something quick – at home, or even at work! Such meals don’t have to be tasteless or unhealthy (see my recipe for an office porridge), but they can get boring after a while. Well thank goodness for the weekend! Here’s my recipe for a fun, tasty and nutritious breakfast – an egg toast in a ramekin.

Carrot Crisps
As promised, the Valentine posts are over. Relieved? 🙂 Today, I’m coming with another healthy recipe – a simple recipe for carrot crisps. Personally, I’m quite bored with potato crisps and I’ve been enjoying experimenting with other vegetables. I’ve already posted a recipe for sweet potato crisps and today I’m here to present you my carrot crisps.
Sweet Potato Stew
The beginning of February came with another wave of fresh snow. And although the majority of it has now melted away, days are getting longer and we see more and more sunlight – it’s still pretty cold and spring is far away, barely seen on the horizon. And that means one thing – spicy, warming food is still needed and desired. Today, I’m bringing you my trusted recipe for spicy sweet potato stew!

Chicken Tikka Masala
So the America’s leading meteorologist – groundhog Phil – predicted an early spring this year. Phew! I think all of us living in the northern hemisphere and having to deal with snow and frost are relieved to hear that. However, it doesn’t look like spring is about to come within the next few days, sadly. We still have some cold days ahead of us, and what can be better for those occasions than spicy, warming, delicious food? Curry type dishes are my go-to in winter. Today, I’d like to share my recipe for Chicken Tikka Masala!
“Zapiekanki” – Oven Baked Baguettes
“Zapiekanki” – or, in English, oven baked baguettes, are among the most popular types of Polish street food. I never thought it could be just a Polish thing. The concept is so simple and uses ingredients known and used worldwide – it just had to be present everywhere, right? So when three girls from three different countries (years ago!) came to my secondary school to have classes with us for a week, it truly shocked me when they unanimously declared that “zapiekanki” were their favourite thing in my country. Here’s a recipe for upgraded, high-quality home-made version of, I suppose, a typically Polish dish?
Honey Glazed Carrots With Orange (Or Tangerines)
From a very early age, we’re taught that we should make our plates colourful by adding vegetables to our dinner. These vegetable sides don’t have to be boring! This time, I’m coming with a recipe for honey glazed carrots, seasoned with freshly squeezed orange juice, rosemary and thyme. They’re soft and delicate and make a perfect side for chicken dishes (but not only those!).

Chickpea Tomato And Bell Peppers Curry
I’m a great fan of curry dishes of all kinds, for two reasons. First of all, their spiciness is so perfectly warming – ideal for someone like me, who believes that every weather below 30°C is basically ice age (no, I don’t live in Sahara Desert, I live in a climate where 30°C is a rather rare occurrence). Secondly, vegetable curry stews are extremely practical – there’s not much preparation needed, some of the ingredients come in cans… you just throw everything in the pot, let it cook for a quarter or two – and that’s it, dinner for 2 days done and dusted.
Healthy Lunchbox Idea – Office Food
After the Christmas cookie and cake galore I felt the need to return to refreshing, clean, healthy eating. I believe some of you may be trying to stick to New Year’s resolutions including healthy diet, so this healthy lunchbox idea may come useful!
Green Peas, Chickpeas And Millet Groats Patties
Hmm… when was the last time I posted a savoury recipe? It’s been a while! December was filled with an abundance of chocolate and icing, so I believe it’s time for something different. Here they are – delicious, healthy patties with green peas, chickpeas and millet groats. Soft, fresh and delicate… And super simple to make!
