A little throwback to January. Looks like all I did that month was eat and craft Hopefully February will bring more diversity, although the weather is still wintery (we got hit by a fresh supply of snow last night…) and doesn’t encourage leaving the warmth and coziness of my house. I do however have one exciting afternoon planned for next week and I can’t wait for it!

Marzipan, Cherry And Orange Tart
This is probably one of my favourite cakes of all times. I love marzipan, unconditionally. I love it in heavy, decadent Christmas recipes, but I also love it combined with fresh ingredients – such as cherries – in recipes that work well all year round. This recipe for a marzipan, cherry and orange jam tart is everything. If you love marzipan – do give it a try!
Gingerbread Christmas Trees
Today I want to share with you one of my favourite baked goodies to make for Christmas. Although it requires a whole lot of time and patience, I enjoy the process and make sure I find time for this endeavour every year. Simple Crispy Anise Cookies
Anise cookies. I call them cookies, but in fact they’re something between cookies and meringues. Tiny, aromatic pieces of heaven that remind me of my childhood, coming back like an echo every festive season. Are they a thing in your countries? If not, you should definitely give them a go! They’re extremely easy to make and require only a few ingredients, although because they need to be left to dry for a few hours before baking they won’t serve as a good last-minute, emergency snack to go. The preparation is slightly weird, but don’t let it discourage you! Ideal for Christmas, but I make them all year round. Great companions for your afternoon tea.
