We’re now about to enter the Valentine’s week. Do you celebrate the holiday? And if so, do you exchange gifts with your other half? If the answer is yes but you still haven’t decided what to get this year – I’ve prepared a few ideas! And if you’re one of those cringing at the heart-themed, couples kind of items shown on display of most stores at this time of year – sorry for that! The Valentine cringe will be over in just a few days. 😉
Please forgive me for giving in to the ubiquitous Valentine’s mood – it will soon be over! But before that happens, I’d like to share a few more things. Today, I’m coming with another mandala – heart themed this time. It’s also a great occasion to finally launch a new section on this blog – downloadable resources! I’ve been meaning to do this for ages, and now, having released my Christmas themed book and a few colouring pages, it feels like a good start. As you may have noticed reading my blog, I love working in the kitchen. Trying out new recipes and baking scrumptious treats rank high on my list of perfect spare time activities. But they certainly wouldn’t be the same without my trusted tools! I can give up on many things. Luxury clothes? Meh. The newest iPhone? No, thanks. But my kitchen has to be well equipped. Here are the things I can’t live without – without them, my kitchen wouldn’t be complete!
This is probably one of my favourite posts to publish on this blog, ever. I briefly mentioned an event I went to last Sunday in yesterday’s post. Here’s what I did that day! If you live in a city and often get bored on days off, this can hopefully give you some ideas – you may be able to find animal expos in your town too! These events often get no advertising, so you might have to make a conscious decision to learn about them. But when you do, there’s plenty to choose from! Even in my not-so-big city there are cat, dog, reptile expos every few weeks. An amazing way to spend a few hours on a weekend day!
Over Christmas, I binge watched both seasons of the Crown on Netflix. As an anglophile, I’ve always been mildly interested in British royal family (and let’s be honest, compared to other reigning monarchs around the world, British royal family is probably the most popular, almost like a commercial product). The Netflix series left me even deeper in love with British culture, but also hungry for knowledge. About the Queen, but not only her – about monarchies in general. The last of Polish kings died in 1798, so I’ve never experienced life in a country ruled by royals. Which probably makes the whole concept even more interesting to me! So, eager to explore the topic, I went on to search for interesting fun facts about monarchies around the world. Here’s what I learnt!

Star signs. A controversial subject. Some deeply believe that our fate and personality traits are all written in the stars, eagerly track horoscopes and when in doubt – ask the skies for opinion. I think it will come as no surprise when I say that kitchen is my favourite room in the house and kitchen gadgets and equipment are among my favourite things to buy (it takes a lot of willpower to refrain from splurging money on every new kitchen item I see). Some of them useful, practical and inexpensive, others – just eyecatching and perhaps slightly overpriced. They all caught my attention though, so I thought I’d share them with you – maybe there’s something you didn’t know about until this day that you’ll decide you desperately need in your kitchen?
