A Year Of Learning To Crochet – My First Projects – Coasters, Toys, Ornaments

A Year Of Learning To Crochet – My First Projects – Coasters, Toys, Ornaments

One of my New Year’s Resolutions for 2025 was to learn to crochet. I originally bought some assorted DIY kits in hope that they’ll teach me everything I need, and I almost instantly gave up, after seeing the instructions. I had no idea what they meant or how to read them! Eventually, I forced myself to watch some video tutorials and have another go. And although it was a rough start, I think I managed to make really good progress over the last 12 months! I’m nowhere near being able to create my own patterns, but I can usually follow easy or intermediate marked patterns. Here are my completed projects in the first 12 months of crocheting, and things I have learnt from them. DIY Half Stitch Kit – Glasses Case – Mushroom

I’ve been on a cross stitching journey for almost two years now, but it was only a couple of months ago when I first discovered half stitching. DIY Crocheted Star Keychain – Learning To Crochet

One of my New Year’s Resolutions for this year was to learn to crochet. It’s been a steep learning curve so far, but I’ve managed to make some progress. I’ve been able to make cute avocado coasters, but also a whole 3D tiger plushie. This time, I chose to work on a cute star keyring. I managed to successfully complete the project, and learnt a few things in the process!

Acrylic Painting By Numbers Canvas – Panda

Acrylic Painting By Numbers Canvas – Panda

It’s been a while since I posted any of my crafts, I know (or posted anything at all, for that matter). Summer in the UK seems so short, especially for a heat-loving individual like myself, that I like to spend every second of it exploring new outdoor spaces. Craft projects are left for long, autumn and winter evenings at home. That being said, I do occasionally start a small DIY project in the summer, it just takes me ages to complete it.
