Brief history of Hampton Court Palace

But first, let me give you a bit of background on the palace itself. Situated on the banks of the River Thames in Richmond upon Thames, Hampton Court Palace boasts a rich and storied history that dates back to the early 16th century. Originally built by Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, the palace later became the residence of King Henry VIII and his many wives. Talk about drama fit for a royal soap opera!
