London 2024 In Photos – April, May, June

Although I have lived in London for nearly five years, I’m still in awe of what it has to offer. It’s an incredible city for sure, and I like to sometimes sit down and scroll through the camera roll on my phone to remind myself how lucky I am to live here. From green spaces to wildlife, historical landmarks to modern skyscrapers, free-to-enter festivals in the heart of the city and train connections allowing the best of day trips. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the beauty of London in my eyes – late spring and early summer 2024 edition.

National Flower Show 2024, Chelmsford

National Flower Show 2024, Chelmsford

Living in the UK, one of my favourite things to do is going on Saturday daytrips, visiting places I’ve never been to. Today, I’m taking you to Chelmsford, a city just a stone’s throw away from London. The main reason why I went there was to visit the National Flower Show which took place in the Hylands House, but I also had some time to walk around the city itself. Join me as I relive that trip!

Belgravia In Bloom, Chelsea In Bloom – London 2024

One of my favourite things about London is the abundance of various events taking place around the city throughout the year. You can never be bored here. Even though I’ve lived here for almost 5 years now, I keep discovering new things to do all the time. Today, I’m taking you to two sister events that took place on one week in May 2024 – Belgravia in Bloom and Chelsea in Bloom.

Lambeth Country Show – London’s Best Annual Festival

Lambeth Country Show – London’s Best Annual Festival

Today, I’m taking you to my favourite event in London’s calendar. The mighty Lambeth Country Show, a family-friendly weekend festival taking place annually in Brockwell Park in south London since 1974. That’s right – it’s been going strong for 50 years, which is the best testimony an event can have. Over 120,000 people visit the festival over the weekend each year. And by the way, it’s completely free to enter!

A Day In Brighton – Sea Life Brighton Aquarium & i360

Brighton, a seaside resort in the south of England, is one of London’s favourite destinations on a sunny weekend. This bustling city has loads of attractions to offer in between strolling on the pebbled beach. There’s already a post on this blog with my one day trip to Brighton, including a visit to the stunning Royal Pavilion. This time, I decided to visit Sea Life Brighton – the world’s oldest aquarium!

Plant Festival At Chelsea Physic Garden, London

Plant Festival At Chelsea Physic Garden, London

Today, I’m taking you to a real secret garden. Located in the heart of London, the Chelsea Physic Garden is a true hidden gem of the British capital. The Garden, established in 1673, is the only botanic garden collection focused entirely on medicinal, herbal and useful plants. I recently had a chance to spend a lovely morning there during the Plant Festival. Here is what I saw.

Beskids Mountains Hiking – Barania Gora, Poland

Beskids Mountains Hiking – Barania Gora, Poland

I love hiking. I was lucky to grow up in the south of Poland, close to Silesian Beskids Mountains, and hiking was one of our favourite choices for a weekend family daytrip. Now that I thoroughly enjoy living in London, one of the things I miss the most are mountain trails. When I flew back home to spend Easter holidays with my family, we managed to organise a hiking daytrip and went on Barania Gora – the second highest peak of Silesian Beskids mountain range.

A Visit To WWT London Wetland Centre

A Visit To WWT London Wetland Centre

Today, I’m taking you to a green oasis in West London – the WWT Wetland Centre. I noticed it while scrolling through Google Maps a long time ago and had it on my list of places to visit in London ever since, but there was never the right time for it – until recently. I had a day off and wanted to explore a new place, but the weather forecast was rather poor for all of England and I didn’t want to risk going out of London to be caught by rain and forced to spend the whole daytrip hiding in some cafe. So, I thought, why not visit the London Wetland Centre! Far enough to call it a trip, close enough to not feel too disappointed should the weather ruin it.

London Mudchute Farm

London Mudchute Farm

One of my favourite things about living in London is how diverse it is in terms of landscape and things to do. You may live in a metropolis with nearly 10 million inhabitants, but if you fancy a taste of the countryside, it’s just around the corner. When I discovered London urban farms, I was over the moon and they quickly became some of my top go-to places on a chilled Saturday morning. Today, I wanted to share with you one of my personal favourite places in London – Mudchute Farm.
