If you’re looking for ideas for a day trip near London, consider visiting Brighton. The seaside town is one of the best known coastal towns in the United Kingdom, and for a good reason. It’s a perfect choice for a one day trip, with just the perfect number of must-see tourist attractions, all of them packed in the town centre. I visited Brighton in the summer and now want to take you there on a virtual trip.
Richmond Park, London. One of my favourite places in this wonderful city. Located in the south-west of the metropolis, the park covers 9.5 square kilometres, which makes it nearly three times larger than New York’s Central Park. Perfect for a day trip, the park also offers a unique opportunity for getting close to the nature – and it doesn’t cost a penny!
Today, I’m taking you to one of my local parks. The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, London – home to the London 2012 Summer Olympics. Ten years on, it’s a fantastic place for a walk any time of the year.

Another month has gone and we’re now closer to 2022 than 2020. Where do all the days go?! Time flies so fast. Last month, I decided to post a summary of my highlights of June 2021. I feel like it’ll be nice to look back on in the future, so I decided to make it a tradition and write up an overview of July 2021 as well. In all honesty, things I did at the beginning of the month feel like such a distant past, I’m actually amazed with how much I manage to fit in one month. One thing’s sure – I’m really good at keeping myself busy all the time.
As we’re slowly going back to normality as we know it and foreign travel seems feasible in not so distant future, I’m taking you to Croatia once again. Another one of the daily trips I made last summer – this time, to a lovely city called Sibenik, located in central Dalmacia. Sit back and enjoy the tour!
London’s secret weapon are definitely its parks. I’ve said it many times, and I’ll say it again – they’re beautiful, bustling with wildlife you wouldn’t expect to see in the middle of a city, and although the bar is quite high now, every new park I visit has something unexpected that surprises me. Today, I’m taking you to Holland Park. Located in central London, just a 20 minute walk from the famous Hyde Park, it’s home to a Dutch garden (Holland Park after all), as well as… a Japanese garden.

One of my favourite things about London are its parks. Huge, green areas, surprisingly neat for being nature enclaves, and surprisingly full of wildlife for being so tidy and looked after. In the series covering London Parks, today I’m taking you on a trip to Greenwich.
Last summer, I was extremely lucky to have been able to go on a holiday abroad. Booked before we even heard about coronavirus for the very first time, it fit perfectly in the short time window when the pandemic in Europe was at its lowest point between waves 1 and 2 and most travel restrictions had been lifted. So today, I’m bringing you to Split, Croatia. A one day trip – covid safe, naturally.
In times when travel opportunities are risky and limited, I appreciate each memory from my past travels even more. I love to explore new places, I find it enriching, even when it’s just a short, one day trip somewhere not too far from home. One of my fairly recent trips was one to Cracow, about a year ago now. I went there hoping to document it on the blog and took dozens of photos, but then life got busy and I never actually got round to posting the trip. Until now, that is.
