One of my New Year’s resolutions for 2026 is to make a dent in my stash of DIY supplies, and I recently went through it to make a plan of action. And it just so happened that I found just the perfect cross stitch kit for this time of year. Every year, I spend Christmas and the New Year back in Poland with my family, and return to London at the beginning of January. And as soon as I come back, I get to experience the beginning of spring in the UK. I still can’t believe that fields of daffodils start to pop up in London parks right after the New Year! Below is a photo I took on January 4th. So colourful! A cross stitch kit with daffodils and crocuses seemed perfect for my first week back in London.

This year, one of my greatest hobbies has been cross stitching. I’ve completed numerous projects and especially loved working on seasonal designs for Easter and Halloween. So now, in the run up to Christmas, I obviously had to find some time in between baking and gift shopping to do some Christmassy cross stitching! This time, I completed a cute mini design featuring Santa Claus with his large gift bag.

Surprise surprise! I’ve completed yet another cross stitch project – who would have thought, right? A few months have passed since I found this new hobby and I’m still thoroughly enjoying it. I even managed to infect my sister with this cross stitching bug, and now we’re stitching together! I flew back home for Easter holidays and my sister surprised me with a cross stitch kit that she had bought for me, and it was a perfect project for the holiday period. Let me present my latest completed cross stitch project – a vibrant hummingbird.
