It feels like it’s been a while since I last posted a new cross stitch project! I enjoyed some other crafts recently – some of them, like the acrylic stained glass ornament, you can already see on the blog. A few others will be shared soon. But today, I’d like to share with you a cross stitch project featuring a bee with a floral wreath. I have plenty of cross stitch sets at home waiting for their turn, but the colour scheme of this bee caught my eye. Also, a little fun fact: a bee is the symbol of Manchester, a city in Northern England that I often travel to for work. I actually took this project with me for a train journey to Manchester!

DIY Mini Cross Stitch Kit – Sailboat
Summer is just around the corner. Can you believe that we’re almost halfway through 2025? The weather here in the UK has been amazing for the last couple of months, and it definitely feels like summer already. So, my most recently completed cross stitch project had to reflect that. From my large stash of cross stitch sets, I chose a small sailboat design. It gave me the ultimate holiday vibes. Despite slight issues with the colours of the thread included in the set – which happens quite often with those assorted sets – I had fun cross stitching this picture. Yet another cross stitch project completed!

My most recently finished cross stitch project – from a pre-assorted DIY kit – features colourful flowers: daffodils, roses and tulips. I enjoyed sewing this vibrant picture, it felt perfect for this time of year. The kit didn’t let me down, with plenty enough yarn included. Yet another sewing success!

In 2024, I discovered a new hobby: cross stitching. I finished countless projects, mainly buying assorted kits with original designs and all necessary supplies. My final cross stitching endeavour of the year turned out to be the biggest disaster of all times – I ran out of three colours of yarn! You can read about that worst cross stitch kit ever in this post. So, starting the first project of 2025, I hoped to avoid any problems. Luckily, this small strawberry design was a complete success!

With Christmas just around the corner, I’ve been enjoying festive crafts recently. One of the projects I worked on was a cross stitch image featuring a car carrying a decorated Christmas Tree. I’ve completed numerous cross stitch projects over the past year, but this time, it didn’t go to plan. In fact, I have to call it the worst assorted DIY kit I’ve ever seen! I managed to save the day in the end, but the process was far from a relaxing journey. Phew!

Today, I’d like to share yet another tiny cross stitch project I’ve recently completed. And if you’ve been following my sewing adventures and think the design looks somewhat familiar… well, there’s a reason for it! A few months ago, I shared a hummingbird project, which remains one of my favourites to this day. It featured a cute bird inside a floral wreath, all kept in bright shades of yellow, orange, red, blue and green. Recently, I randomly saw a mini cross stitch kit in a shop, and it instantly reminded me of that past design. So of course, I had to buy it!
