My cross stitching journey continues, with no end in sight. Who would have thought that a tiny cross stitch kit that I bought a couple of years ago – and found immensely confusing at the start – would turn into a huge hobby of mine? Despite dozens of completed projects, I still enjoy cross stitching. I find it relaxing, and love seeing the designs come to life. This time, I finished a small design featuring a colourful peacock. The pattern and all of the supplies came from an assorted cross stitch kit, and the project was a success.

Today, I’m taking you on a weekend trip to York – a beautiful, medieval city in the north of England, filled with charming roads, quirky shops and interesting landmarks. I went to York during the bank holiday weekend at the end of August, and spent three days in that stunning city. I tried some local food, visited lots of museums, and even joined a ghost tour. But most importantly, I strolled along the medieval roads, admiring the architecture. Join me on this trip, with dozens of pictures!

Today, I’m bringing you a recipe for an easy, comforting, nourishing meal. It’s perfect for meal prepping – I usually freeze portioned leftovers for quick weekday lunches. This potato, broccoli, ham and sweetcorn bake is high in protein thanks to the careful choice of ingredients, but you can adjust the recipe to use easily accessible items. Cooking time might be a bit too long for a weekday meal, but if you have spare time on your hands on a weekend, I highly recommend it for meal prepping.

Over the past nearly two years, I’ve completed numerous cross stitch projects. Today, I’d like to share with you the most recent one – a cute bookmark! This vibrant design was fun and easy to sew. Usually, my completed cross stitch projects end up in a storage box, but this time, I made a functional item that I can actually use. I followed a pattern from an assorted DIY kit, but you can use this idea to inspire your own cross stitched bookmark.

In July, I went to Zakopane, Poland, for a hiking holiday. It’s one of my absolute favourite places in the world, and the mountains are stunning. I already posted about my hikes to Kasprowy Wierch and to Czerwone Wierchy. Today, I’m going to take you to Karb – a spot I didn’t know about until the day I went there, partly by accident. It’s not a well known trail, but it’s actually phenomenal and I can recommend it if you’re visiting Tatra Mountains.

We’ve been spoiled with a hot summer in London this year, but a couple of cooler days last week were a great reminder that autumn is slowly approaching. And to me, autumn is the time for cosy, warming, comfort meals. There are a few autumnal dishes that my Mum only made when the required ingredients were in season. One of such recipes are knedle – potato dumplings with plums. You can find a recipe for those on my blog. I’ve already made them this year, they are delicious! An example of a savoury autumnal meal that I’ve always loved is leczo – a bell pepper stew. So a few days ago, I decided to recreate it. I put a little twist on it to use ingredients available in the UK, but it turned out great! It’s simple to make and certainly hits the spot. Give it a go!

One of my New Year’s Resolutions for this year was to learn to crochet. It’s been a steep learning curve so far, but I’ve managed to make some progress. I’ve been able to make cute avocado coasters, but also a whole 3D tiger plushie. This time, I chose to work on a cute star keyring. I managed to successfully complete the project, and learnt a few things in the process!

It feels like it’s been a while since I last posted a new cross stitch project! I enjoyed some other crafts recently – some of them, like the acrylic stained glass ornament, you can already see on the blog. A few others will be shared soon. But today, I’d like to share with you a cross stitch project featuring a bee with a floral wreath. I have plenty of cross stitch sets at home waiting for their turn, but the colour scheme of this bee caught my eye. Also, a little fun fact: a bee is the symbol of Manchester, a city in Northern England that I often travel to for work. I actually took this project with me for a train journey to Manchester!

This year, I had the pleasure of spending my summer holidays hiking in Tatra Mountains, in the south of Poland. It’s one of my favourite places in the world, and it’s truly beautiful! Last week, I took you on a hike to Kasprowy Wierch, one of Poland’s most famous mountains. Today, I’m taking you to Czerwone Wierchy – a long but picturesque trail through 4 mountain peaks. It includes some of the easiest to climb peaks over 2000 metres above the sea level that you can find in Poland. Join me on the photo trip!

One of my goals for this year has been to learn to crochet. I originally tried to make the first steps last year, but gave up almost right away. Today, I’d like to share with you my most recent project – a crocheted tiger plushie. I used an assorted DIY kit and managed to successfully complete the project without major issues.
