DIY Crochet Set – Gingerbread Man – Christmas Crochet Inspiration

In today’s episode of learning to crochet from zero to hero, I’d like to share with you my most elaborate project so far. I bought an affordable crochet set for making a cute gingerbread man toy, wanting to challenge myself with techniques I haven’t tried before. It wasn’t a smooth journey all along, and I did make significant mistakes along the way. But, I also learnt several valuable lessons and will now approach future projects armed with additional knowledge. Despite his flaws, I still think that this crocheted gingerbread man turned out adorable and I did quite well. What’s even better, I completed it in just three evenings!

DIY Crocheted Cherry Bookmark Set – Learning To Crochet

One of my New Year’s resolutions for this year was to learn to crochet – or at least learn the basics, for now. I’ve managed to make really good progress over the last few months, successfully completing several projects. Most recently, I crocheted a bookmark with cute cherries and a tassel. I used an assorted kits for this project, but frankly – you can easily replicate it yourself if you know the basics of crocheting. I will include some tips for that. Unfortunately, the kit itself wasn’t great and I had to make some adjustments. For that reason, it turned out to be a bit of a challenge for my beginner skills, but I managed to figure it out, and the final result is quite cute.

Learning To Crochet – Part 1 – Easter Eggs, Witch’s Hat

One of my resolutions for 2025 is to learn to crochet. It’s a skill I’ve wanted to master for ages, but all previous attempts last year left me feeling overwhelmed and confused. I’ve purchased numerous assorted DIY crochet kits – all labelled as suitable for beginners – and yet, none of them was good enough to actually teach me how to crochet. How frustrating! However, I never gave up the dream of being able to make myself the perfect cardigan or a plushie toy. And finally, just before Easter, I decided to dedicate a few hours to getting started. I’m happy to report that I’ve made a little bit of progress, and even completed a few simple projects! Here’s how my first couple of weeks of learning to crochet went.
