DIY Felt Bunny Ornament – Easter Craft

DIY Felt Bunny Ornament – Easter Craft

Hey there, fellow crafters! With Easter just around the corner, I decided to get into the spirit of the season by trying my hand at a cute and cuddly Easter craft – making a small felt bunny ornament! I recently got my hands on a craft kit for this adorable project, and let me tell you, it was a delightful – though short – experience from start to finish. You can use this as an inspiration for making your own felt bunny ornaments, in case you can’t get your hands on a kit like mine.

The kit contents were everything I needed to bring my felt bunny to life. It included pre-cut felt pieces for the front and back of the bunny, along with pieces for the ears and tail. The assortment of colourful yarn, needles, filling, and a piece of ribbon were also provided, as well as a leaflet with instructions, making it a breeze to get started.

I began by stitching the decorative pattern on the bunny’s front using pink yarn, following the pre-made holes for guidance. This step was both relaxing and satisfying, setting the tone for the rest of the project. Next, I tackled the ears, sewing them together and carefully stuffing them with filling. I have to admit, this part was a bit trickier than I anticipated – those ears were tiny!

Undeterred, I moved on to sewing and stuffing the tail, followed by adding the finishing touches like the bunny’s adorable black eye. Finally, I stitched the front and back of the bunny together, making sure to attach the ears and tail in just the right spots. A small opening was left to stuff the bunny before completing the stitches, and just like that, my felt bunny was complete!

Now, onto my thoughts and review of the craft kit. Firstly, I was pleasantly surprised by the pre-made holes for the stitches – they made the entire process a breeze and took away any guesswork. While I initially thought this would be a quick and easy craft suitable for kids, I quickly realized that some parts were quite fiddly and might require adult assistance.

Finally, I glued the pink patches onto the ears. I considered sewing them on, but they were tiny, so I decided to attach them with glue.

Even though it was overall an easy and quick craft, I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of making my felt bunny ornament. From the simple joy of stitching to the satisfaction of seeing the finished product, it was a delightful way to spend an afternoon. Plus, the entire project took me under an hour to complete, making it the perfect quick and easy craft for busy days.

In conclusion, craft kits like this are a fantastic way to dip your toes into a new craft without breaking the bank. As someone who had never made felt ornaments before, I was pleasantly surprised by how easy and enjoyable the process was. Now, I’m confident that I could easily tackle another bunny, starting with a blank sheet of felt without pre-cut shapes or holes – or perhaps even get creative with my own designs!

So, if you’re looking for a fun and festive Easter craft to try this season, I highly recommend giving a felt bunny ornament a go. It’s a delightful way to add a touch of handmade charm to your Easter décor and get into the spirit of the season. Happy crafting, everyone!

  1. Hi Alphe, thanks for following my photoblog. I checked to see if I was still following you which I wasn’t. I suppose WordPress glitched, this has happened to others that follow me. Have a good day or eve! 😊
